We're gonna get wet anyway

There's an energy circuit just under the skin. All paddlers have it. All ocean people have it. You'd think we'd be electrocuted simply dropping a hand into the ocean, but no.
More like a re-charge when skin touches water.
That's why nearly 500 people didn't mind the rain, the dense marine layer of fog, and headed to Mission Bay pre-dawn, coffee in hand, for the annual Hanohano Huki Challenge.
Barely able to see each other, let alone a marker, off we go.......
Putting our brilliantly painted, finely designed OCs, skis, K-1s, K2s and SUPs to the test.
What's in a race? The chance to be with like-minded water creatures who train hard, study the physics of fine form and relish the adrenalin rush.
A chance to be together in the quest, a chance to prove you are more than you were last time.
We're going to get wet anyway, so why not catch raindrops?
And share the love?
Hanohano is more than a race. It's a gathering of the tribe.
The excellent.
The inventive.
The tribe:
Creating yet another story to share, next time, on the water.
It's always a good day on the water.
